The Role: Strategy & Business Development Manager
NuCicer is looking for an individual who will play a foundational role in establishing and executing the company’s business strategy as we get ready to launch our first generation of products. This critical hire will report to Neha Singhania (SVP, Business Development and Strategy) and will be responsible for developing the vision for NuCicer’s business and supporting the company’s strategic growth. This is truly a unique opportunity to heavily shape NuCicer’s trajectory and create a differential impact!

What you'll do:
Business Development & Strategy
  • Assist in developing 5-year strategic plans;
  • Conduct research and analysis as needed to evaluate new commercial and business development opportunities;
  • Support multiple aspects of commercial deal structuring and business negotiations with partners;
  • Advance perspective on our near and long-term product roadmap, (desired form factors, target pricing, etc) that maps to the company’s commercialization strategy.

Fundraising:
  • Support financial modeling as we refine our long-range forecasts in line with the company’s commercialization strategy;
  • Create high-quality investor-ready materials;
  • Assemble critical components of a data room.

Other:
  • Assist with product strategy and operations for 2023 / 2024 launches;
  • Branding / PR support.
About you:
  • 3-5 years of experience in business development, strategic planning or related functions. Prior banking, consulting, corporate finance, or deals/partnerships experience is preferred;
  • Experience at a high-growth organization in the biotechnology, food, and/or agribusiness sector;
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in strategy, finance, business development, product management, or other related fields;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop financial models in Excel, derive insights from data, and synthesize into actionable takeaways;
  • Excellent business research skills;
  • Strong bias for taking action, creativity, and problem-solving;
  • Mission-driven, team-oriented, and low-ego with a positive attitude;
  • Excited about a small, scrappy environment. In other words, strategic, but hands-on.
Location & Schedule:
This position is based in the Bay area or in Davis, CA. The expectation is to be able to travel to Davis, CA most weeks for 1-2 days in the office.

Compensation
The pay range is currently between $120,000 to $130,000 in annual gross compensation. Equity compensation is additional. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
